It’s the most ludicrous thing Bucky’s ever heard in his life. They never had a swear jar; they didn’t have enough money for a fuckin’ swear jar. Every damn dime they had wouldda gone into it.
Teen, humour. I love troll!Steve fics, and these two are golden.
Bucky gets on a Manhattan bound train around 2:30, heading to 8th St. He watches the Lady far off on Liberty Island as they roll over the East River. The train is crowded and people smile at him, pleased to see a handsome young man in uniform. He smiles back, pleased with the world and everything in it. He wonders where Steve might want to go for lunch. What he’d say if Bucky asked him if he’d ever thought about treating this thing between them as real.
He comes out of the subway a little before 3 o'clock, and the world has changed.
Mature, pre-war. The texture and depth of this… Breathtaking.
Magnus had been getting Alec to do a lot of things he had never done before, and it was just really starting to piss Jace off. Not because he didn’t want Alec to try new things or be happy or to have a healthy sex life (well, maybe not that part, because – well – that was just too confusing to get into)… He just wished that Alec had been able to open up to him all these years instead.
Jealousy. Great.
Adult, voyeurism. Jace sees a bit more than he’d bargained for… This is funny and seriously sizzling.

Until I’ve only used my Tumblr to rec stuff - and then along comes Alec Lightwood and parabatai feels, and my shippy little heart (which always goes for the BFF pairing) can’t help itself…
For the record, I love the Jace/Alec relationship on the show (Parabatai Lost, anyone? *wibbles*), platonic love between men is beautiful and important (as long as it doesn’t ignore the canonical history of Alec’s non-platonic feelings for Jace). But in fandom we get to play with ideas canon can’t/won’t, and romantic!Jalec is one of those.
But now, of course, there’s Steve.

Teen, wishverse. I just re-watched The Wish and got this hankering to find out more about that Buffy. Turns out she’s not quite the lone wolf she seemed in the ep. :) (And like the fic, we’ll ignore the inevitable ending.)
They were different men now, no longer Prince and loyal subject, no longer Major and Captain, bound together in service. For the first time, they would meet as equals. Or, as equal as they would ever be, considering God’s Grace flowed through David’s veins, and Jack’s blood held only the poison infected in him by his parents.

He had exactly one picture of Alec and himself, a quick shot on his phone that he’d insisted on when they’d finally made it out for their first date. […]
He hung the picture on his wall beside a picture Isabelle had given him of Alec and Jace. That one was clearer, both boys smiling and with Jace’s arm slung over Alec’s shoulders. He kept them together in his own sign of respect, because even if he hadn’t particularly liked Jace much, he understood the bond between parabatai.
Mature, post-season 1. Death isn’t the end. I love Magnus in this.
“Allow me to put this in a way that I know you’ll understand,” he’d said. “Get it done, or I’ll have your parabatai held down and I’ll let the crew take turns with him. And I’ll make you watch.”

Poe meets the first love of his life in the branches of his tree.
Adult, pre-TFOA. This fic is incredible! Seriously, I never even thought of Poe and Luke knowing each other, but now all I can think of is little Poe falling in love with Luke and how that ends up shaping him. A simply wonderful Poe characterization, with a lot of interesting insights into Luke and the others as well!
Alec has never called Jace his ‘brother’ before… Based on the S2 trailers!
“You called Jace your brother,” Izzy says softly as she sits down on the edge of her brother’s bed and crosses her legs.
Alec, who’s lying fully dressed on the covers with his right arm thrown over his eyes, doesn’t look at her. “So?”
“You have never done that before,” she observes. “You’ve always called him your best friend or your parabatai but never your brother.”
This my shipper heart can totally live with… And I love Izzy so much.
His chest hurts. His heart beats faster, he has trouble breathing. Everything Magnus described and then some, except Alec has been feeling this all of his god damned life and it’s so familiar he could scream. This isn’t about desire; it never has been. Alec has loved Jace for so long that he hardly knows who he is without this love, and it’s starting to look like he never will.
“I don’t want you to get hurt,” he says finally, and Jace smiles. It’s a small, crooked thing, and it hurts Alec to see it.
Adult, post-season 1. This is intense and proof that it’s entirely possible to ship a pairing without having seen the entire (or even most) of the canon… What can I say, I’m a sucker for this parabatai thing and Alec Lightwood’s soulful eyes. :)

Adult, angst. This fic ate my heart and spit it out. Oh, Bucky! I don’t think I’ve ever read such a gut-wrenching description of how the Asset was created. This was written pre-Civil War, and canon was actually kinder to him, something to which I clung while descending into the darkness…
Marcus - didn’t step back. His courage, really, ought to have been lauded; as it was, it was a mere unremarked-on necessity. His contract specified that he not engage in communication with the client, but it also stipulated that were a response commanded, he would, if the environment were secure enough, be compelled to obey.
Esca knew that, of course. The brat knew everything. “Come here, Marcus.”
Mature, AU. Esca is a dancer, Marcus his bodyguard. It goes about as well as expected. Intense!
